The Soundtracks to my heART

I am absolutely bursting with excitement because I finally get to share a blog post that I've been itching to write since day one! It's all about the incredible music that inspires my art, motivates my work, and keeps me grounded. Because of my obsession with music, this might be the start of a recurring series where I spill the beans on the songs and albums that have been living rent-free in my head and home recently!

Let's kick things off with my newest art collection, The Mercury Collection, which was born amidst the constant beats of the Beastie Boys. I mean, seriously, 'Intergalactic' and the album 'Hello Nasty' were on repeat throughout the entire creative process. The energetic vibes and infectious rhythms kept me amped up, focused, and, most importantly, downright silly and happy! Catch me making the house shake jumping to this music!

But here's the thing, my musical tastes are as eclectic as my art. In the past month, I've been vibing to a lot of jazz, and boy, has it worked wonders for my stress levels. There's this Spotify playlist called Sleep Cozy Sexy Jazz, that I've been obsessed with! It's packed with soothing jazz instrumentals and some undeniably iconic classics. Picture this: Billie Holiday's 'Solitude,' Quincy Jones' 'The Midnight Sun Will Never Set,' Julie London crooning 'I'm In The Mood For Love,' and Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong's enchanting 'April In Paris.' Trust me, it's a playlist that not only brings down the stress but also sends those endorphins skyrocketing! I highly suggest listening to this playlist as a whole but if you prefer, you can listen to the four favs I mentioned right here!

You see, I'm a total nostalgic soul. Even though I wasn't around during those times, I'm always yearning for the memories and vibes of bygone eras. It's no surprise that my art often incorporates a dash of history. And what better way to immerse myself in the past than by listening to the music of those times? It's like feeling the heartbeat of history in every brushstroke. The music of past eras is like stepping into a vintage photograph or a well-worn record, feeling the heartbeat of history resonate within me.

The crackle of old vinyl, the melancholic jazz notes floating through the air, or the swinging beats of a big band—they all become threads that weave the fabric of my creative process. As I immerse myself in the melodies of the past, I can almost see the streets bustling with people, the fashion trends evolving, and the cultural shifts that shaped those moments in time.

Listening to the music of the past allows me to tap into the emotions, stories, and spirit of the eras I'm drawn to. It's a way to connect with the lives and experiences of those who came before us. Through every note, I absorb the collective memories, and they find their way onto my canvas.

In a world where we are often consumed by the present, music becomes a bridge that connects me to the rich tapestry of history. It's an intimate and profound experience, enabling me to breathe life into my art with a deep understanding of the human experience throughout time.

So, as you embark on this journey with me, get ready to be transported through the ages, to feel the emotions that have lingered in the air, and to witness the beauty of history etched upon every stroke. Together, let's celebrate the timeless connection between music, art, and the nostalgic soul that fuels our creative exploration.
